Information Communication Technology

Information and Communications Technology at Therfield is developing rapidly. This is reflected both in increased curriculum provision and in technical developments.

School's Computer Network

Therfield has one of the largest curriculum networks in Surrey. There are over 400 computers available for students' use (including 45 wireless laptops). There are three separate bookable ICT suites with interactive whiteboards and projectors, a designated Modern Foreign Languages suite which also provides video on demand, the Resource Centre and various other curriculum areas around the school.

All computers can connect to the internet, and Internet based E-mail is available for all students. All students store their work on the network. Each student has their own user identity and password to protect their work. Students are also able to log on to the schools Virtual Learning Environment from home via the internet. In each of the last 4 years the School Governors had committed over £20,000 for developing the School's IT facilities and have undertaken to continue their valued support.

All students have access to the ICT rooms at lunch-time and after school. This is a useful time for getting on with work, or just making general use of the computers, providing that the school’s code of conduct is followed for computer use.

All extra sessions are fully supervised.
